We are currently launching this initiative, which is based on two immediate challenges
Acquisition of participating spaces
Formation of a team to manage and streamline this initiative
“Regenerative Laboratories”:
They are functional territorial units, of any size or location, in which their managers identify themselves with the values, principles and objectives of the “Regenerative Ecosystems” group and therefore form part of the network of interknowledge that this group aims to establish. O
The “Regenerative Laboratories” are the organization's base cell for field action. This implies that the managers of these spaces maintain management in the way they deem most convenient, but that they undertake to discuss their management options with the other members, in order to generate collective knowledge. It is also important that they understand that they are part of a territorial network, which by acting in a network enhances benefits for these territories, as well as for the Iberian ecosystems as a whole.
- Common objectives of the Group
To establish, through discussion/experimentation, principles and models of management in a logic of ecological regeneration of ecosystems, bio-diverse and sustainable.
Implement on the ground viable models of management of Iberian ecosystems, in a local harmony, interconnected in an Iberian network, with a vision of the whole and scale - the “Regenerative Laboratories”
Obtain and share knowledge, technical, commercial and behavioral gains with members.
Demonstrate to the general public, including managers, decision-makers and politicians, what structural changes are needed in the long term in a regenerative process of forest ecosystems and others, in economic, social and environmental terms, as a “pressure group”.
Working together to restore ecological functionality, to build Research, Training and Innovation Centers for Ecological Restoration
Engaging people in ecological restoration research
Train people on how to restore degraded lands for good.
Our goals are:
Train people in land restoration techniques and provide hands-on opportunities for people to practice new approaches to landscape restoration.
Build research, training and innovation centers to engage people in ecosystem restoration.
Managing a stream of volunteers of all ages to restore agricultural and natural ecosystems.
Increase soil organic matter, carbon content and water holding capacity to encourage large-scale carbon sequestration.
Improve the livelihoods of farmers, landowners and local communities around the camps.
Being adherent implies:
Identify with the group's values and objectives
Accept an ecocentric view of the world
Believing that with a coalition of wills it is possible to protect and improve networked ecosystems, each part acting on its own scale o Respecting the vision of each of the adherents, contributing through discussion to an integrated and cohesive project.
Actively participate in the development of the Iberian network of “Regenerative Laboratories”
Share knowledge and contribute to the discussion of topics o Act locally with a global vision
Protect the soil, water and other cohabiting organisms in the ecosystems where we operate
Type of Adherent: the
Manager or stakeholder of a “Regenerative Laboratory”
Individual or organization that identifies with the values and objectives and intends to support this project, either locally or globally, finding mutual benefits for both parties
Volunteer who intends to support, in the field or at a central level, the Regenerative Ecosystems project
Decision-makers and sponsors who identify with the Regenerative Ecosystems movement
